Who We Are

A Papua New Guinean marine science consultancy dedicated to evidence-based stewardship of coastal ecosystems.

Welcome Message

A Message from Our CEO

Dear Partners and Stakeholders,

Welcome to Constellation Eco Consultancy. Together with my associates Lester Hanimo, Larry Ako and Joel Kumisi we established this consultancy to bridge science and community in Papua New Guinea's Blue Economy.

Our marine ecosystems are the lifeblood of our coastal communities and the foundation of our national food security. At Constellation Eco Consultancy, we don't simply collect data—we translate it into actionable strategies that serve both conservation and community prosperity.

Through rigorous resource mapping, precision laboratory diagnostics, and community-based management frameworks, we provide the scientific clarity needed for sustainable decision-making in an era of climate change and growing demand.

I invite you to explore how we can work together to protect the marine resources that define our island nation.

JK

Warm regards,

John S. Kaipu, B.Sc.

Chief Executive Officer & Lead Scientist

Our Story

Bridging Science & Community

Constellation Eco Consultancy is a Papua New Guinean based consultancy dedicated to the sustainable stewardship of marine ecosystems. We provide a 'Bio-Socio-Tech' integrated approach to resource management, bridging the gap between high-level biological research, precision laboratory diagnostics, and community centred socio-economics. Our firm specializes in translating complex marine data into actionable management strategies that align with both international sustainability standards and the unique cultural and economic landscape of Papua New Guinea.

Founded in 2026, we emerged from a recognition that PNG’s vast marine resources required not just scientific expertise, but a methodology that honours local communities and traditional ecological knowledge alongside international best practices.

Vision & Mission

V

Our Vision

We envision a future where PNG's marine ecosystems thrive through evidence-based stewardship, where coastal communities prosper from sustainable fisheries, and where our nation sets the standard for integrating biological science, socio-economic development, and cultural values in marine resource management across the Pacific region.

M

Our Mission

Our mission is to ensure PNG's marine ecosystems are managed sustainably, equitably, and effectively by bridging the gap between high-level fisheries science and community livelihoods—combining PNG-trained expertise with internationally recognized best practices to provide the clarity and data-driven confidence required for sustainable investment, conservation, and long-term resource viability.

Track Record

Key Milestones

Foundational achievements that shaped our expertise in marine science, field research, and project management.

01

Marine Research Foundation

Industrial Project – National Fisheries College (NFC)

Completed a 3-month intensive industrial project with Papua New Guinea's National Fisheries College, serving as a Facility Technician at Nago Island Mariculture & Research Facility. This established foundational expertise in facility operations, marine species management, and research protocols—bridging academic theory with practical fisheries management.

02

Field Research Excellence

Final Year Special Project – Lakekamu River Mudclam Survey

Successfully designed and executed a comprehensive mudclam survey at Lakekamu River, Gulf Province, demonstrating advanced field research capabilities in survey methodology, species assessment, and data analysis—culminating in a final year presentation that combined biological research with resource management insights.

03

Business Operations & Project Management

Operations Executive – SK Petroteck Ltd

Partnered to establish and operate SK Petroteck Ltd, a construction company serving Gulf Province infrastructure needs. Successfully managed the delivery of three double-classroom projects in Kerema District valued at PGK 950,000.00, including project coordination, logistics management, and financial acquittal reporting.

Operational Process

How We Work

Three integrated stages from field data collection through to actionable advisory reporting.

01

Field Operations & Data Collection

Deploying specialized teams to conduct on-site marine surveys, resource assessments, and community consultations across Papua New Guinea's coastal and inland waterways. This includes GIS mapping, biological sampling, habitat evaluations, and socio-economic interviews—ensuring comprehensive, accurate data collection that forms the foundation of all our advisory services.

02

Laboratory Analysis & Quality Assurance

Operating precision laboratory facilities for water quality testing, biological specimen analysis, and environmental diagnostics. Our laboratory specialists process field samples, conduct salinity and pollutant assessments, and maintain rigorous quality control protocols to deliver empirical evidence that meets national and international scientific standards.

03

Strategic Advisory & Reporting

Synthesizing field data and laboratory results into actionable management reports, policy recommendations, and sustainability frameworks tailored to each client's specific needs. This includes technical assessments, stakeholder presentations, compliance documentation, and capacity-building resources that translate scientific findings into practical decision-making tools.
